50 Cent On Being In Juvenile Detention At 15: “I made a lot of mistakes”

50 Cent shared a photo of himself in Juvenile Detention when he was 15 years old while alluding to his troubled past.

The rap icon is among one of the most successful rappers turned businessmen in the music industry, and his artistic ability is just beginning as his creative genius as a television producer shows how multitalented he is.

50 Cent‘s journey, though, has not been without its challenges that are not exactly unique to him as an African American man. The rapper delved into the past as he shared an earlier memory as a teenager when he was in a Juvenile Detention Center.

The “Get Rich or Die Tryin’” rapper posted a throwback photo of himself at a juvenile detention center when he was just 15 years old.

In the caption, 50 Cent reflected on the harsh childhood he experienced growing up in South Jamaica, Queens, New York, a neighborhood that is plagued by gang violence and drug dealing that led to his earlier decisions in life. He also paid tribute to his late grandmother, who was there for him.

“Yo i was 15 in this picture,” he wrote. “on the South Side you have to grow up faster. I made a lot of mistakes I was already in juvie, I remember my Nana coming to see me, she is my angel. she love me unconditionally.”

The rapper has spoken about his past many times, even as he is now an inspiration for many people. His life was one characterized by hardship. He was raised by his mother, a drug dealer who later died in a fire while he was 8 years old. He was then raised by his grandmother and began boxing at a neighborhood gym at 11 years old. But his life wasn’t as simple as it sounded. At 12 years old, he was selling crack cocaine even as his grandparents thought he was in after-school programs.

While that became a constant part of his life, he was also his grandmother’s “baby” as he once said when talking about toughing it out in the streets at his age but being loved by his grandmother. In 2015, he spoke about living with his grandmother – “I was outside hustling but I still had to talk my grandmother into letting me walk home from school myself. I said to her ‘Look, I’m bigger than you know.’”

His grandmother passed away in 2014, and he noted that her death had a phenomenal impact on him. “she was the love of my life.”

He has also shared many hilarious moments he shared with his grandmother with his fans, including one in a tweet while he was at her house and she made him take out the trash- “I can’t [believe] my grand mothers [sic] making me take Out the garbage. I’m rich f**k this I’m going home I don’t need this sh*t.”

Bobby Shmurda Immortalized Harriet Tubman On His Arm

Bobby Shmurda immortalized Harriet Tubman on his arm.

The New York rapper has been making a concerted effort to stay a free man and obeying the conditions of his parole. He’s mostly kept a low profile popping up every now and then but always looking serene and in control. Bobby Shmurda looks to be really looking to take a positive turn and was recently spotted getting some new ink. While the finished product hasn’t been presented yet, it seems he’s getting a portrait of Harriet Tubman.

Shmurda gave a virtual nod to Brooklyn tattoo artist Daz Léone Ink with a couple of prayer and heart emojis as he tagged him in a post on his Instagram stories. Daz has been in business for over a decade now and began his career in 2009. He’s worked with several rappers over the years, including Pop Smoke.

Daz also shared the work that he’s doing on Bobby’s right arm, and even though it looks quite near to completion, he revealed that it’s going to take more than just one session to get the job done. “First session of a long project,” he captioned a pic on Instagram. He added: “Welcome home bro. He got some fire on the way.”

Fans have been eagerly awaiting his first record since being released from prison after serving seven years. Most recently, in April, he hinted that some new work might be on the way. In that upcoming track, he declared himself as the ‘King of New York.” It’s been rumored that the late Pop Smoke might feature on one of his tracks soon.

In the same month, Bobby Shmurda previewed a new track on Instagram, following reports that he couldn’t release his songs because of label issues. He eventually assured fans that new music would be coming soon.

Konshens Announces New Project “Konshens Remix Pack”

Dancehall hitmaker Konshens was full of surprises today when he offloaded the “Konshens Remix Pack.”

As the name suggests, the project involves the dancehall deejay adding fiery verses and previously unheard vocals on popular local and international tracks. Konshens wears his creativity on his sleeve for this one, providing fans with 9 tracks of pure heat. The “Winner” singer gave fans a taste of his remixing abilities a decade ago when he dropped his version of Kelly Rowland, Lil Wayne, and DJ Drama’s 2011 hit single “Motivation.”

His track titled “Different” focused on switching things up in the bedroom, a core theme of many of the deejay’s songs. The same lesson is taught on this surprise release, which his team labeled as “a DJ pack for DJs and fans.”

The first track owes its beat to Kalan.FrFr’s song “Scoring.” Track 2 is all about his 2012 hit “Gal A Bubble” being refitted to match the beat of African super-star Wizkid’s 2019 hit “Joro.”

Konshens also layers his lyrics over songs such as Mooski’s “Track Star,” Wizkid, and Burna Boy’s “Ginger”, on which Projexx is featured, and an ode to his teenage daughter via Coi LeRay’s “No More Parties.”

Notably, Konshens has officially answered the calls of fans who were urging the deejay to remix Dexta Dap’s “Call Me If” in November last year.

The calls came after Konshens did an unofficial remix of the track that inspired a ‘Call Me If Challenge’ when Dexta Daps re-posted the video on his own Instagram page.

The remix not only found favor with fans but also with several other Dancehall entertainers including, Beenie Man, Demarco, Bounty Killer, and Kemar Highcon. Fans commented that they could not imagine the song being any better until Konshens’ remix. In addition, many fans claimed, even while the challenge started to gain traction, that Konshens had already won.

Fans are, therefore, happy to see deejay’s third track, “Call Me If Nuttin,” being the official remix to Dexta Dap’s 2020 single. Shaneil Muir flourished in 2020, and her track “3D” had a lot to do with that. It was simply a no-brainer from Konshens to trade lyrics with the sassy Shaneil on this one.

The project was aided on its way with work from his current manager Silent Addy – Bashment Records, along with Disco Neil, who engineered the project.

Konshens is impressively making big moves, having his name circulating in the media over the last three weeks following the release of “Pay For It,” featuring the queen of dancehall, Spice.

The song has been propagating wildly across platforms since its release on April 15, so much that the song is still trending on YouTube. Fans are predicting a successful and productive year for the deejay.

Nelson – Call Me Lyrics

oooh, Ooooh
How many nights did you wait for the phone to ring?
Wondering where he’s been or the next excuse he’ll swing
How many hearts will he break while the second chances flow?
You can deny what you want, but I think there’s something you should know
I would kill to catch your eye, standing at your side
I wanna hold you tight and never let you go
Be there to make you see that love will set you free
Girl, take it from me, this is how it’s gonna go
Each minute by minute for the rest of your life
I’ll make up for all the wasted time
So when you’re done with being his Plan B, call me!
How many tears did you waste you now wish didn’t fall?
And how many friends did you lose because he screwed them all?
What do you see in a man who can only please himself?
Does it turn you on to be last in line of girls he puts through hell?
As if you can’t tell,

I wanna hold you tight and never let you go
Be there to make you see that love will set you free
Girl, take it from me, just in case you didn’t know
With every kiss, I’ll be proving myself
Making you feel like you always should have felt
So when you think you’re worth the love you need, call me!
Baby
Girl, I’m just waiting for the day you call me
Because what comes around goes around
Waiting in the wings for his karma to arrive
I will be here holding on because all he’s done is do you wrong
Praying for the day that you see the light and let me treat you right!
Oohoh Ooooh
I tell you year by year, every second in between
I’ll be the twice the man he’s never been
Get over being his Plan B and call me!
Call me (call me)
Baby
When you wanna get the love you need, call me
Baby (Baby)
Call me…
Woahh… call me

Bo Carter – Sales Tax Lyrics

These times now : ain’t suiting me
*Account it* : costing a dollar three

Old Aunt Martha : live behind the jail
A sign on the wall : saying liquor for sale

I never seen : the likes since I been born
The women got the sales tax : on the South End home

You used to buy it : for a dollar round
Now sales tax is on it : all over town

I’m as loving : as a woman can be
The stuff I’ve got : will cost you a dollar and three

Now you may take me : to be a fool
Everything is sold : by the government rule

Pregnant Erica Mena Threatens To Beat Wendy Williams For Trashing Her & Safaree

It seems news that Erica Mena and Safaree are expecting their second child are not sitting right with some people. While many have kept their opinions to themselves, Wendy Williams is not one to shy away from a “hot topic.”

The controversial talk show host delivered scathing remarks on Erica Mena and Safaree’s current baby bump. It seems though that her advice was directed more to Erica, and Erica is not taking it lightly.

Wendy Williams said, “I don’t really know you much Erica but I do know Safaree enough. And you all need to stop fighting and threatening divorce so much,” Wendy said.

“And you all need to grow up and stop fighting so much and grow into being parents and If you’re not gonna want to be married, just get a divorce and co-parent. And babies don’t save marriages but good luck with atleast your first six,” she continued.

Erica Mena, however, responded to Wendy Williams to show her displeasure at Wendy speaking on her marriage and her unborn child. “@wendywilliams at this point let’s link up so I can beat your ass. Your ex husband didn’t do a good enough job,” she tweeted.

The Love and Hip Hop star also tweeted, “by now y’all know I mean what I say and say what I mean. Talking to yourself about me is a hobby for you not for me…if you don’t exist to me what offends you don’t effect [sic] me.” She said.

Check out Wendy’s comments here ? pic.twitter.com/0Iij9VBpEw

— TheShadeRoom (@TheShadeRoom) May 6, 2021

The couple announced their baby number 2 on Monday, with Erica posting a photo of her baby bump and Safaree with the caption “more life. Who wants that perfect love story anyway.”

Safaree Samuels confirmed the news since the photo might have confused fans into thinking that it was a throwback from when she was pregnant with their daughter Majesty. “you know people slow and they not gonna realize this is new from last week #2.

The couple has had any public spats online, and the most recent one is months ago as Safaree said getting married was one of his biggest mistakes and that he would rather leave a relationship before he did something that could land him in jail. She, on the other hand, tweeted that he was selfish and vain, and inconsiderate even with their baby daughter.

It seems, though, that the couple is working on their relationship as they have since shared many moments together, even some spending time with their daughter Majesty as they play and have fun.

Here are some of the response from fans.

The domestic violence reference and fighting while pregnant just proved her point. I know DV survivors and that was not cool. You have a lot of growing up to do.

— Teshia (@Tee_Dawg29) May 6, 2021

Exactly! Wendy didn’t say anything wrong. The fact Erica is a DV victim herself?! Like shit is not cute, it’s embarrassing. Bird like behavior to the max.

— Tiare Santiago (@tiiiiaaarree) May 6, 2021

Domestic violence is nothing to throw in someone’s face. For all the women, and some men, who have overcome an abusive relationship, I applaud you and pray you remain uplifted!!!

— Nicole Ventour (@NicoleVentour) May 6, 2021

Okay I know Wendy Williams can be VERY messy. But what Erica Mena said to her was messed up…if she wanna fight her cool but to literally mock another woman for being beat by their husband and say he ain’t do a good enough job is messed up.

Tommy Lee Sparta Alleged In Prison Getting His Hair Braided By A Man In Viral Video

Tommy Lee Sparta went viral this week over an alleged video of the dancehall star in prison getting his hair braided by another man who appears to be an inmate.

The dancehall star is once again proving that being in jail is no different than if he was on the road, as a new video of the artist shows that he is healthy and in good spirits as he addresses the camera while music plays in the background.

Other prisoners can be seen in the video as Tommy Lee Sparta, wearing a black Fendi shirt and a gold chain with a machine gun pendant, speaks inaudibly to the camera.

Sparta is currently serving a three-year prison sentence after pleading guilty to illegal possession of firearm and ammunition charges. The sentence was handed down in March at the Supreme Court division of the Gun court. He has also been slapped with a murder charge in relation to the same gun, which police say has been allegedly involved in several murders in the corporate area.

The former Vybz Kartel protégé has, over the past few months, been seen in several videos circulating online purportedly from prison. One of the videos shared around Christmas time showed the artiste in good health as he awaited sentencing.

While many persons online reacted to how “festive” Tommy Lee Sparta and his background was, some compared his demeanor to that of Jah Cure, who noted in one of his songs “prison a nuh bed of roses,” as he lamented the time he spent behind bars.

The condition of the prison leaves much to be desired. However, of more concern to authorities might be the artiste being filmed as cell phones are considered contraband in prison, and regular sweeps have seen the devices being recovered by authorities from the likes of even Vybz Kartel himself, who tuned into a live video with dancehall producer Russian last year. The act caused outrage and calls for the government to act. It led to a search and seizure of the contraband from the artiste.

Vybz Kartel, however, has kept a low profile and has not been seen online as to how Tommy Lee Sparta has been seen.

It’s good to see Tommy Lee in good spirit despite being behind bars.

Keyshia Ka’Oir Addresses Annoying Rumors She Abandoned Her Kids In Jamaica

Keyshia Ka’Oir is again icing rumors that she abandoned her kids in Jamaica.

Gucci Mane‘s wife and social media personality Keyshia Ka’Oir has had a pretty successful career in the entertainment industry. Unfortunately, it’s one that has been plagued with this aged rumor that she left her kids in Jamaica and migrated to the States to get it started. Though she has denied the rumor in the past, it seems to keep resurfacing nonetheless, so this time she shot it down cold on social media.

The 36-year-old has been tackling this rumor ever since she got married to Gucci Mane in 2017. Their Miami wedding was televised, and it was around air time that these and other unsubstantiated claims started crawling out of the woodworks in blogs and tabloids. The longtime rumor alleges that Keyshia left three kids in Jamaica and moved to America to be with a rapper. As the claim reared its ugly head once more, the social media and reality star decided to shut them down once and for all, addressing it on Twitter.

When a fan asked, “So do Keyshia Ka’oir really have other children in Jamaica?” she bluntly replied, “NO!” perhaps both exasperated and frustrated about the constant accusation. Back in 2017, during an interview on The Breakfast Club, Keyshia Ka’Oir admitted that, like her husband, she too has children. However, she clarified that she left Jamaica at just 10 years old, contrary to the speculation that she left kids there when she was 17 or 18 years old. “The people dem wicked!” she said on TBC in her Jamaican accent.

NO! https://t.co/SPMZNIN8kQ

— Keyshia Ka'oir Davis (@KeyshiaKaoir) May 6, 2021

The wife of the Atlanta rapper added that they have a blended family, and all their kids actually live at home with them and are spoiled and happy. She says they were all at the couple’s wedding as well, and while she is proud to be a mom, she prefers to keep that part of her life private as she doesn’t want the kids in the limelight. “I need them to go to school and to just be children,” Keyshia said.

In December 2020, Keyshia and Gucci welcomed their first child together, a son, Ice Davis. The newest addition to their blended family is now the youngest brother to both of their kids. Keyshia thinks the rumor that she abandoned her kids in Jamaica to start a new life in the States is pure hate. What say you?

DJ Akademiks is now claiming that Keyshia Ka’oir had a relationship with Yo Gotti while Gucci Mane was in prison. She hasn’t yet respond to the allegations.

Saweetie and Quavo Escapes Charges In Elevator Fight Case

Saweetie and Quavo won’t be charged in their domestic violence case.

An investigation into the fight between Quavo and Saweetie has been closed as the police will not be formally laying charges on either of the two, TMZ reported. A video of the elevator altercation that hit the internet after Saweetie announced that the two were no longer a couple caused concern among viewers that Quavo was abusive and that the relationship was toxic.

The video showed the two had an altercation as Saweetie grabbed a bag and Quavo tried to yank it from her. The fight continued as a pull and tugged for a few more seconds before Saweetie is dragged and flung to a corner of the elevator as she appears stunned, and Quavo looked up to the elevator camera.

However, while neither of the two reported the incident, police had announced it was concerned by the video and launched an investigation. The police were reported as saying they wanted to speak to both Saweetie and Quavo about the incident.

However, both of them addressed the situation as they seemed focused on moving on. In a statement, Quavo says, “We had an unfortunate situation almost a year ago that we both learned and moved on from. I haven’t physically abused Saweetie and have real gratitude for what we did share overall.”

Saweetie also released a statement that addressed the relationship to corroborate what Quavo said. While both artists have made a concerted effort to move on, it seems that they are physically done but not lyrically, as both have continued to throw shots at each other in their music.

K.A.A.N. – Iso Lyrics

[Intro]
Do you know how much I put into this? Do you know? Everything
The sacrifice is all I got
It’s all love
The sacrifice is all I need
It’s what I want

[Verse 1]
I fight the good fight while we battle in Babylon
Build the foundation, turning doubters to tag-a-longs
Feed the generations of your family from your catalog
I indoctrinate them through the statements of this monologue
Running in this marathon, putting in miles like Pelotons
Tryna make it out the shallowest waters like pelicans
Renaissance of the Avant Garde like Rembrandt
For the duration of my stay I play by rules that I create
My main objective: simplify the formula locked in my mind
The more I search, the more I find, (?) the elevated climb
And common thoughts collected from this numb
The pain ignore assumptions
Can’t get lost in commentary or indulge unnecessarily
Apparently we say perception’s realer than reality
I’m following my path
I’m in the valley of the mountain peak
The journey that I’m on is self fulfilling, push it to the limit
Put my all inside my art, I know I’ll make it God willing

[Chorus]
Feeling like I gave ’em too much, I hit the clutch
Adjust, this a must, adapt, or you combust
In these microwave times designed to make you rush
Going nowhere in a hurry, yeah we constantly worry
We treat attention like it’s currency, they eyes on me
But really we inside a prison, it’s just commissary
A life sentence isolated, watch your sanity leave
That loneliness is what the vanity breeds
I do believe

[Verse 2]
They say we programmed, desensitized by traumas and pain
Animals they hurt for profits, we just grazing the plains
They looking at human beings as losses and gains
Literal livestock, the goal to box us in and take us all out
Money ain’t the root of evil, it’s the prerequisite for it
Power can surely usurp it
In lamer terms it all looks worthless
It’s not working
The current system we in is disrupting our purpose
It’s harder to heal
No, empathy is getting harder to feel
Could make you molotov and [?] the field
And have yo’ back against the wall with the steel
To let it off at your will
Inflicted pain you keep inside that you want others to feel
Been crying out for years for help but there ain’t no one

Gracie Abrams – Mess It Up Lyrics

[Verse 1]
Opened two double doors
Typical, pretty sure I could grow up
Probably chemical
I took up walking to turn it all off
Doesn’t feel bearable
Guess I thought when I left it would all stop
Hmm, it would all stop

[Chorus]
Did I fall out of line when I called you?
When I told you “I’m fine” you were lied to
How could I think that all that I gave you was enough?
‘Cause every time I get too close I just go mess it up

[Verse 2]
Funny that didn’t work (didn’t work)
I could be anywhere, I’m on your block
Cynical (cynical), terrible (terrible)
Kicking myself with my gut in the knot
‘Cause I heard that you’re (heard that you’rе), happier (happier)
Hope that you’rе sleeping well knowing I’m not
I’m doing too much, hmmm

[Chorus]
Did I fall (did I fall) out of line (out of line) when I called you?
When I told (when I told) you “I’m fine” (you “I’m fine”) you were lied to
(I told you I’m lying)
How could I think that all that I gave you was enough?
‘Cause every time I get too close I just go mess it up

[Bridge]
I keep thinking maybe if you let me back in
We can make it better, breaking every habit
Pull myself together, you could watch it happen
Let it happen
Let it happen
I keep thinking maybe if you let me back in
We can make it better breaking every habit
Pull myself together, you could watch it happen
Let it happen
Let it happen

[Outro]
I keep thinking maybe if you let me back in (did I fall out of line when I called you?)
We can make it better breaking every habit
Pull myself together, you could watch it happen (when I told you “I’m fine” you were lied to)
Let it happen
Let it happen
I keep thinking maybe if you let me back in
We can make it better breaking every habit (how could I think that all that I gave you was enough?)
Pull myself together, you could watch it happen (’cause every time I get too close I just go mess it up)

Rag’n’Bone Man – Fireflies Lyrics

[Verse 1]
There’s a world you don’t see
Old man’s tears for a young man’s dreams
In my eyes, you’re growing like the weed
I can’t decide if I’m you or if you’re me

[Chorus]
But don’t let fear be a thorn in your side
Keep your eyes on the light
And let everyone know that you’re caught in
Like fireflies in the garden
And past the trees and the storms, I’ve grown
Walked along this sweet home
And let everyone know that I’m fighting
To see fireflies in the gardеn

[Verse 2]
One day the stars will disappear
Might go away, but you can always comе back here
Seasons will change from golden to silver
Don’t let time turn your [?] into winter

[Chorus]
But don’t let fear be a thorn in your side
Keep your eyes on the light
And let everyone know that you’re caught in
Like fireflies in the garden
And past the trees and the storms, I’ve grown
Walked along this sweet home
And let everyone know that you’re caught in
See fireflies in the garden

[Bridge]
We go where the sunlight meets the mornin’
Oh, dear, ’til you find what you’re looking for

[Chorus]
And don’t let fear be a thorn in your side
Keep your eyes on the light
And let everyone know that you’re caught in
Like fireflies in the garden
And past the trees and the storms, I’ve grown
Walked along this sweet home
And let everyone know that I’m fighting
To see fireflies in the garden

There’s a world you don’t see

JP Saxe – Like That Lyrics

[Verse 1]
You should know I’m always past the point where my mind can change
Nothing I’d rearrange, you’re the perfect combination
You’re reckless, stubborn and affectionnate
And when you tell me, “We’re steady”, I know you mean every word of it

[Chorus]
No one’s ever love me like that
3 AM in a hospital bed, running high on my meds saying, “No one’s ever love me like that”
Tell me, “No, you don’t have to be strong, you’re allowed to be wrong”
No one’s ever love me like that
Momma crying ’cause your love is the kind, she always wished I would find
No one’s ever love me like that
No one’s ever love me like that

[Verse 2]
When I’m a mess or at my best, you’re the first thing I don’t second guess
I’ve seen enough and I can say, you’re the perfect combination
Of hectic, you’re sexy and a [?]
And when you tell me, “We’re steady”, I know you mean every word of it

[Chorus]
No one’s ever love me like that
3 AM in a hospital bed, running high on my meds saying, “No one’s ever love me like that”
Tell me, “No, you don’t have to be strong, you’re allowed to be wrong”
No one’s ever love me like that
Momma crying ’cause your love is the kind, she always wished I would find
No one’s ever love me like that
No one’s ever love me like that

[Post-Chorus]
You, ooh-ooh, ooh-ooh, ooh-ooh, ooh-ooh, ooh-ooh
You, ooh-ooh, ooh-ooh, ooh-ooh, ooh-ooh, ooh-ooh
Mm-hmm-hmm, mm-hmm, mm-hmm, mm-hmm, mm-hmm-hmm
Mm-hmm-hmm, mm-hmm, mm-hmm, mm-hmm, mm-hmm-hmm
No one’s ever love me like that

[Chorus]
No one’s ever love me like that
3 AM in a hospital bed, running high on my meds saying, “No one’s ever love me like that”
Tell me, “No, you don’t have to be strong, you’re allowed to be wrong”
No one’s ever love me like that
Momma crying ’cause your love is the kind, she always wished I would find
No one’s ever love me like that
No one’s ever love me like that

[Post-Chorus]
You, ooh-ooh, ooh-ooh, ooh-ooh, ooh-ooh, ooh-ooh
You, ooh-ooh, ooh-ooh, ooh-ooh, ooh-ooh, ooh-ooh
Mm-hmm-hmm, mm-hmm, mm-hmm, mm-hmm, mm-hmm-hmm
Mm-hmm-hmm, mm-hmm, mm-hmm, mm-hmm, mm-hmm-hmm
No one’s ever love me like that
