Pentatonix – You’re Out

If anybody else wants to go and hang out
But leaves my house
Leaving me in doubt
You’re out
You’re out
(I came to say goodbye tonight)
If anybody else wants to chill with me
And suddenly I get anxiety
You’re out
You’re out
(I came to say goodbye tonight)

Pentatonix – Petals

Everybody needs somebody right now
(Right, true)
Ain’t I lucky?
I’ve found you somehow
(Right, true)
Don’t look back,
Say you will
Heart attack
You give me chills
Cadillac in the hills
Diamond black, drink your fill
Uh uh uuu

Pentatonix – Anchor

Every time that you tell me you want it
I can read your mind and I’m not even on it
And now I see it, feel it clearer in the morning
If you’re gonna go, then give it if you want it
I don’t want to be the rock that pulled you down
This ship has runner ground
Oh oh ooh

Nicki Minaj Subs BET Hip-Hop Awards, Cardi B & Megan Leads Nominees

Nicki Minaj is “Seeing Green” after BET Hip-Hop Awards announces this year’s nomination.

The nominees for the 16th annual BET Hip-Hop Awards have been released ahead of the event to be held in October. It’s little surprise that dynamic duo Cardi B and Megan Thee Stallion are leading this year’s nominations for the Hip Hop awards. Both women have been tied with nine nominations each.

Cardi B, in particular, continues to stun with her ability to sweep awards nominations in spite of not having a mixtape or studio album. Her nominations come from her collaboration with Megan Thee Stallion for “WAP,” the raunchy female-centric banger of 2021 that set off many angry men.

Megan’s nominations, on the other hand, account for music from “WAP” but also her albums Good News and track “Suga” released in 2020.

Toronto Lover Boy, Drake, will be battling Megan and Cardi with eight nominations across seven categories and is vying for the coveted Hip Hop Artist of the Year and Song of the Year award.

Drake’s nominations are from work released in 2020 and won’t include his recently released Certified Lover Boy, which missed the cut-off date for nominations.

Drake’s nominations include “Laugh Now, Cry Later,” with Lil Durk tipped for “Best Hip Hop Video,” “Song of The Year”, and “Best Collaborations” categories. The “Way 2 Sexy” rapper has two nods for his collab on 21 Savage’s “Mr. Right Now” in the collaboration category, while his work on “Migos’ “Havin’ Our Way” is tipped for “Best Featured Verse.”

Drake was nominated in the “Best Lyricist” and “Hustler of The Year” categories as well.

Quite a few big names, including Moneybagg Yo, Tyler, the Creator, Migos, Megan Thee Stallion, DJ Khaled, 21 Savage & Metro Boomin, and J. Cole are nominated for Hip Hop Album of the Year with their latest respective albums, while Lil Nas X received two nominations for his controversial single “Montero (Call Me by Your Name),” while Tyler received four nominations for his latest album Call Me If You Get Lost.

Nicki Minaj seemingly wasn’t too happy about the nomination and thinks “Seeing Green” should’ve been given a nod. “If you mention ‘HipHop’ in 2021 & don’t mention #SeeingGreen that tells me everything I need to know,” she shared on Twitter on Thursday (September 9).

If you mention “HipHop” in 2021 & don’t mention #SeeingGreen that tells me everything I need to know.

Anthony Fantano Is Not Impressed By Drake’s “CLB” Despite Chart Success

Anthony Fantano is not impressed by CLB and he’s not holding back in a review that left fans with mixed feelings. Drake’s latest album has been touted in competition against Kanye West’s Donda.

However, it seems that the music reviewer who critically assessed Donda at a 7/10 rating does not feel Drake’s Certified Lover Boy giving it a 3/10 score. Both albums have been pitted against each other by fans and even the artists themselves in a supposed beef which has been suspected to be all part of a large marketing scheme to sell music by Kanye West and Drake.

However, the first thing fans have done since the albums dropped was compare them side by side. It appears though that Drake’s album is the least favourite of the two or atleast that’s the case for Fantano who released his review days after CLB’s drop.

Fantano started his review by calling the album a “Certified snoozer.”

While he rated the overall album at a 3/10, he does agree that a few tracks like “Fair Trade,” “Yebba’s Heartbreak,” and “You Only Live Twice,” are good but he completely trashes the Future and Young Thug-feature “Way 2 Sexy.”

Fantano says the  album lacked creativity.

“Once again, I’ll sum this up by saying this is just a very uninspired record from Drake,” he says in the final moments of his review. “Not a whole lot going on here creatively. A few decent tracks here and there but nothing coming together into a great project here.”

Of course fans were divided on the music reviewer’s words with some agreeing with him and others disagreeing. Some however noted that the latest review of CLB cements the dominance of Donda over Certified Lover Boy.

Anthony Fantano said his least favorite song on CLB is Way 2 Sexy, which makes sense considering his egg head ass is one of the ugliest and least sexy MFs I've ever had the discomfort of seeing in my entire life

Nicki Minaj Explains On Why She Turned Down Doja Cat Collab

Nicki Minaj said she declined a feature on one of Doja Cat’s songs because she didn’t feel she had anything to add to the song as it was already good on its own.

While speaking on a Twitter Space discussion on how she decides what to collaborate on, Nicki Minaj disclosed the reason she did not feature on “Get Into It (Yuh).” Fans previously thought that Nicki was beefing with Doja Cat since she unfollowed a host of artists, including Doja and Megan Thee Stallion, last year.

However, Nicki Minaj says she has a lot of love for Doja Cat, who coincidentally gave her a shout-out towards the end of the song “Get Into It (Yuh).”

“It’s not that I’m too busy at all, it’s just that there were, like, middle people involved in that situation so I had told her, if it was like how me and BIA were direct and we talked to each other directly, but I didn’t love that song [“Get Into It”] because I didn’t think I could bring anything to it,” said Nicki in response to a fan asking if she was too busy to appear on Doja’s album.

“So I asked them to send me something else. I think that was the second song they sent me, I asked them to send me something else and they didn’t send me anything else.”

Another fan pointed out that Doja’s song samples Nicki’s “Massive Attack,” which was released in 2010, to which Nicki said she didn’t really “like” that song. “No,” she continued before the fan can interrupt, “I love that song!”

Nicki Minaj revealed she was asked to hop on Doja Cat’s “Get Into It (Yuh),” but felt she couldn’t do anything for the song… ?? pic.twitter.com/SXeFwori7U

— Power 106 (@Power106LA) September 7, 2021

Fans of both Doja and Nicki Minaj have been calling for a collaboration and even wanted Nicki to appear on Planet Her. In spite of what the expectations are, it seems that fans will have to wait a little more, and for sure, Doja Cat might be in the works when the Queen releases new music because, based on her explanation, there’s no beef with the two of them.

Pusha T Says He Drove Drake Out Of Hip Hop Entirely

Did Pusha T drove Drake out of rap.

They say old habits die hard, and sometimes those habits involve hating on an old nemesis long after the beef has cooled off. Rapper Pusha T landed his name in the conversation this week following the release of Drake’s long-awaited Certified Lover Boy, simply by being passive-aggressive whenever the opportunity to throw some shade presented itself. Despite the impressive numbers and positive reception of CLB, Drake and his latest project are receiving plenty of negativity from the naysayers, and Pusha has been right there to co-sign it all.

DJ Akademiks posted about Pusha’s latest second-hand diss, adding a screenshot of a Tweet reading, “crazy how pusha t literally managed to push drake out of hip hop entirely,” and pointing out that Pusha clicked like on the tweet.

Earlier this week, Pusha quietly provided his opinion through someone else’s words on another occasion, liking a tweet that commented on Drake’s second-day streaming numbers. The tweet argued that Drake only saw such an impressive first-day performance because it was a surprise drop of a repeatedly delayed project and compared the album’s streams to Kanye’s DONDA, which was preluded by three weeks of listening parties that gave everyone a sneak peek of the album’s tracks.

As for whether Pusha T did, in fact, “push” Drake out of hip hop, fans don’t seem to agree. Akademiks asked his followers to chime in on the argument, saying, “Y’all think that faxxx or fiction??” Fans overwhelmingly responded in support of Drake, leaving comments such as, “Pusha T gotta be living in a alternate universe if he believes that,” and “only time pusha t name brought up in any discussion is when drake being mentioned.”

Nobody seems to know what the Twitter user meant by making that comment or think that Pusha T had any business hyping them up. Meanwhile, Drake is likely unbothered as he enjoys having the biggest album debut of 2021.

Bounty Killer vs. Beenie Man Documentary In The Works

Bounty Killer and Beenie Man documentary is in the works.

The compelling Bounty Killer vs. Beenie Man story of rivalry to friendship is well documented, but the details are not entirely clear or understood by many. That will soon change as Bounty Killer has disclosed that a Documentary of the full story is currently in the making! The Warlord made the disclosure in a recent interview on TVJ’s ER with Anthony Miller.

While the two veteran deejays appeared to have buried the almost 20-year-old hatchet, Bounty Killer believes it is a captivating story that needs to be told.

“Most people grow up hearing of us being rivals,” Bounty said. “They don’t know exactly how it went. Now they growing up seeing we as friends.”

He explained that the upcoming work would go back to where it all started and fully document what he and Beenie Man went through and also highlight that difference can be put aside in the interest of unity.

While Bounty Killer and Beenie Man have never directly thrown hands at each other, the deejays had thrown lyrics and shade in a number of heated clashes. The famous rivalry took root at Sting 1992 when both artists were young and up-coming. The popular clash played a huge role in propelling them both to stardom, and even years later, they continued to feud, throwing hurtful words at each other.

Bounty Killer / Beenie Man

After being accused by Miller of saying some “pretty terrible” things about Beenie Man during the feud, Bounty Killer defended, “You know. We both said terrible things Anthony. You a meck it seem like a one side a the fence. So Beenie never seh terrible things too? I might said the terribler things, because I am the terribler one.”

He later added, “it’s all peace and love. There ain’t nothing to get on our nerves now because it was just fighting for our space in the game.”

But, the artists were fighting over other things as well. Their feud intensified in 2006 when Beenie Man started dating Bounty Killer’s ex-girlfriend, D’Angel and later married her.

In 2012, Bounty Killer had explained that the feud originally began because he believed Beenie Man “pirate my style and acting like it is his.”

Bounty Killer’s growth in the industry can hardly be denied. Killer had explained that his feud with Beenie was quashed since his mother, Miss Ivy, died back in 2012. Bounty Killer showed much appreciation that Beenie Man had reached out and offered support after this major loss, even attending his mother’s funeral.

The huge display of brotherhood was the beginning of a friendship that fans had previously declared improbable. With the long years of rivalry now left in the past, fans are eager to see how this friendship will unfold.

Kanye West Confirms “Hurricane” As First ‘Donda’ Single

Kanye West and his team reveals the first official single off Donda.

It has been a week since the release of Kanye West’s latest project, Donda, although it feels like much longer considering the elaborate and drawn-out way in which the album finally made its way onto streaming services. Going against tradition once again, Yeezy waited until after the album’s release to announce its first single. According to Hip-Hop-N-More, “Hurricane” ft. Lil Baby and The Weeknd will make its way into radio rotation next week, on September 13th. It seems Kanye let the fans choose the project’s first single, considering that “Hurricane” is the most streamed track of Donda so far.

While “Hurricane” debuted at No. 6 on the Billboard 100, the radio plays are anticipated to help increase the song’s popularity, possibly securing another No. 1 hit single for all three artists on the track. A total of 23 songs from Donda landed on the Billboard Hot 100, with two making their way into the top ten. Remarkably, only one other artist has charted at least 23 songs on the Top 100 in one week, and that artist is currently being talked about as Yeezy’s main competition—Drake.

Drizzy dropped Certified Lover Boy this week, beating Kanye’s first-day debut numbers but tapering off on his second day. This data is leading some to predict that Donda may ultimately earn more streams considering Kanye chose to weaken his debut by giving everyone a sneak peek through multiple listening parties over the course of three weeks.

While Kanye continues to wield the power of his unpredictability and eccentricities to stoke interest and vague hope among fans old and new, hip hop enthusiasts and critics alike seem to agree that CLB is the stronger of the two projects. Whichever album you prefer, there is no denying that some healthy rivalry is good for the creative process. Both Drake and Kanye have left immeasurable marks on the rap game, and both have loyal fanbases that will continue to stream everything they release for the rest of their careers.

Witch Fever – In Birth

“In Birth” lyrics added here:

In birth we trust, born under surprise
And you still struggle to meet my eyes
Pulled out from the womb, pulled down by my hair
She was your sweet little bird but her lips filled you with fear

You pressed me, undressed me
Telling me I was your wet dream
But get out of my cunt, I’ll fucking eat you alive
Tear your bones head to toe just to see what’s inside

Look at me, are you ready?
Look at me, are you ready?

When you’re alone, are you numb
Do you know, what you’ve done
What you’ve done
What you’ve done

In Christ we are a thriving mistake
And I still struggle being your bait
Its out of my hands I feel I’m falling apart
Untouched by the cross that tried to make its mark

You pressed me, undressed me
Telling me I was your wet dream
But get out of my cunt, ill fucking eat you alive
Tear your bones hear to toe just so see what’s inside

Look at me, are you ready?
Look at me, are you ready, ready?

When you’re alone, are you numb
Do you know, what you’ve done
What you’ve done
What you’ve done, what you’ve done, what you’ve done

When you’re alone, are you numb
Do you know, what you’ve done
What you’ve done

Little Mix – Love (Sweet Love)

Love (Sweet Love) is the lead single for Little Mix’s upcoming album, “Between Us”, announced for released on November 12, 2021. Little Mix shared it along with the single cover on their socials on August 30, 2021. Hours later, after the announcement, another teaser from the music video was released. Lyrics are added below.

[Verse 1: Leigh-Anne]
I’ve been waiting patiently like all my life, yeah
Nobody ever seems to get it right

Solo stimulation, yeah
Kiss my imagination

Francis Of Delirium – Come Out and Play

I can’t explain
I cannot wash it off
Or look the other way
This won’t fade
But I can keep moving on
Until I play

Come with me
Wash me away

Chorus:
Keep me, keep me in bed
Come out and play
Wash me, wash me away
Come out and play.
