Beijing suspected of plotting an invasion of Taiwan

The West was alarmed by the directive signed by Xi Jinping

The US government-funded publication Radio Free Asia reported that the Chinese authorities allegedly began preparations for a “non-military” special operation to seize the territory of Taiwan not controlled by Beijing.

A number of politicians and experts were alarmed by the directive, which was previously signed by Chinese leader Xi Jinping.

According to this document, the Chinese military received the right to conduct special operations “to prevent threats”, “maintain peace” and “protect the sovereignty” of the republic.

In turn, the Chinese government publication Global Times reported that the signed directive speaks “not about wars”, but about other “operations”. However, critics of the document believe that Beijing thereby secured a legal justification for the invasion of the island.

Earlier, Chinese Defense Minister Wei Fenghe during the Shangri-La Dialogue security conference in Singapore said that the PRC would ” fight to the end” if anyone “dares to separate” Taiwan from China.

The corresponding statement was made after Washington promised to increase the amount of military assistance to Taipei.

Ukrainian shelling of Donetsk has a hidden target

“You can't play by the rules of Kyiv”

Ukrainian troops are shelling Donetsk and the surrounding cities like it's the last time. “We didn’t have this even in 2015,” say residents of the central districts of the capital of the DPR. Previously, shells flew to the outskirts of the city or to militarily significant places. Now the city is covered with dense fire, focusing on social facilities and residential buildings. Why did the Ukrainian troops and their command need this, MK understood.

On June 13, Ukrainian artillery bombarded the city for six hours, targeting the most important places for ordinary people – a church, a market, a hospital, a maternity hospital. It seems that from the other side they are simply eager for an answer: they can’t wait until Avdiivka, from where the shelling is being carried out, will be smashed to pieces.

More than 300 shells from Uragans, Grads and foreign artillery pieces were fired at Donetsk on Monday. And on Tuesday morning, the blow also hit Russia, where the target was the city of Klintsy in the Bryansk region, located not far from the Ukrainian-Russian border.

Residents of the quiet village of Zaimishche on the outskirts of Klintsy woke up from strong explosions, there was a column of smoke in the air, and a large shell crater on the ground. According to eyewitnesses, a Mi-28N Night Hunter helicopter was seen flying at low altitude in the sky. “It hit a military unit and a residential building,” local residents say, “glasses flew out near the houses nearby.”

There are reports of casualties – four people were injured, who are now in traumatology. The initial information that one woman lost her leg was not confirmed: “She has shrapnel wounds. This woman went outside to fetch water. A piece of shrapnel hit her house, and she was standing nearby,” local residents say. The shelling was carried out, probably by the Ukrainian Tochka-U. As a result of the incident, the city had partial problems with water and electricity

In Donetsk, Voroshilovsky, Budyonnovsky, Kyiv and other areas of the city suffered from shelling. The Armed Forces of Ukraine did not spare even babies: in the center of the city, the Vishnevsky maternity hospital came under fire. There was only serious damage to the building – a shell broke through the roof, destroyed windows and walls. Patients and staff miraculously survived, having managed to take refuge in a bomb shelter. Now women in labor have been transferred to other places, and the maternity hospital is temporarily closed.

Many residential buildings are destroyed or damaged, and an unexploded ordnance is reportedly lying on the floor of one of them.

“The enemy has literally crossed all boundaries,” said the head of the DPR, Denis Pushilin, “forbidden methods are being used, sleeping areas, the central districts of the city of Donetsk are being shelled. Other cities and regions of the Donetsk People's Republic are also under fire.”

They also aimed at the saint – they struck from the “Hurricane” at St. Vladimir's Church in the Kuibyshevsky district of Donetsk. The shell did not explode, only slightly damaging the roof and a nearby car. As a result of yesterday's shelling, there were many wounded and dead, among the victims there are minor children.

According to experts, there is no logic in the shelling of peaceful targets, the goal of the Armed Forces of Ukraine is to piss off the command and provoke the forces of the RF Armed Forces and the people’s militia of the DPR to attack “head on” and reach Ukrainian artillery. This opinion is shared, for example, by DPR Deputy Information Minister Daniil Bezsonov “The population is dissatisfied with the shelling and criticizes the authorities. Our military, under the pressure of public sentiment, remove our artillery and our units in the Popasnyansky and Limanovsky directions and transfer them near Avdiivka, where the Ukrainians “extinguish” them during a frontal attack on their positions,” Bezsonov outlined the Ukrainian plan.

The historian and military expert Yuri Knutov expressed the same opinion. He believes that the main reason for the shelling is to arouse dissatisfaction with the inhabitants, so that the authorities at any cost try to move the front from Avdiivka, where the Armed Forces of Ukraine have equipped strong fortifications: “Avdiivka is powerfully fortified, troops seem to be advancing in Maryinka, but there are certain difficulties. Accordingly, it is necessary to strengthen the grouping, and strengthening the grouping is possible only by relieving pressure on Severodonetsk/Lysichansk and Slavyansk/Kramatorsk. And because of these fortifications, a frontal attack on Avdiivka will lead to colossal losses on our part. The whole calculation is based on this, for the sake of this, these shellings are carried out.”

What can be done? Do not play according to the scenario that the Kyiv regime is trying to impose.

It is impossible to equalize the positions of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, together with Avdiivka itself, with the ground, since a large number of civilians remain in residential development, and a large chemical enterprise, the Avdiivka Coke and Chemical Plant, is located nearby.

DPR official representative Eduard Basurin believes that this the shelling of the Armed Forces of Ukraine was prepared for a long time, since coordination takes time. “The shooting was not just chaotic,” he told media representatives, “the shooting was carried out on a certain square, which suffered the most, this is our Voroshilovsky, Kyiv and Kuibyshevsky districts. At the same time, the enemy constantly changed the positions of artillery, covering one another, and all the time the shooting was exactly on the square – this is the destruction of the civilian population. “

According to Basurin, more civilians die in Donetsk than the military – this is how Ukraine shows “love” for citizens whom it still considers its own.< /p>

In connection with the current situation, Denis Pushilin turned to Russia with a request to attract additional allied forces: “An understanding was reached that all the necessary additional forces of the allied forces, primarily the Russian Federation, will be involved,” he said. .

The wild shelling of Donetsk was countered by “Penicillin”

Why it is not possible to quickly defeat the grouping of the Armed Forces of Ukraine in Avdiivka

The barbaric shelling of residential areas of Donetsk makes all sympathizers ardently desire to make sure that the artillery positions from which the fire was fired at the city were destroyed once and forever. But it turns out that not everything is so simple, and there are many exclusively military factors that do not yet allow this to be done.

Photo: Ivan Prikhodko's telegram channel.

The shelling on June 13 was the most brutal in all the years of confrontation. Hundreds of Grad rockets and dozens of NATO 155 mm howitzer shells hit the city. This caliber is used by the American M777 guns and the French Caesars, which reached Ukraine through Poland and Romania and ended up on the front lines. Five civilians were killed, including one child, 33 were injured.

The fire was fired from Avdiivka, the most powerful fortified area of the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU). What prevents them from identifying artillery positions in a timely manner and destroying them?

One of the problems is the lack of reconnaissance drones. Russia does not have drones capable of hovering at an altitude of 12-13 kilometers for days, equipped with powerful optics and radars that the United States has. Small drones cannot operate at a considerable distance and do not fly high. This is a fairly easy target for enemy air defenses.

The problem with drones has already been identified, and the industry is rapidly trying to solve it. Just like the issue with the means of counter-battery combat. Our army has them, but, firstly, not as much as we would like, and, secondly, NATO is still ahead in this type of weapons.

Counter-battery stations make it possible to detect an enemy shot and, by calculating the trajectory of the projectile, instantly determine where the projectile was fired from. The data is transferred to their own artillery, which gets the opportunity to destroy enemy guns and launchers before they change firing position.

The Russian army has a similar station on wheels – “Penicillin”. It captures acoustic and thermal signals from shots and explosions and gives the coordinates of the location of the enemy guns. But not all sections of the line of contact seem to have such systems. Despite the fact that NATO countries handed over hundreds of such complexes to Ukraine.

There are other difficulties in the destruction of artillery and rocket systems of the Armed Forces of Ukraine in Avdiivka. One of them is the largest coking plant in Europe in the city. And these are dozens of multi-ton tanks with chemicals. A blow to them is a guaranteed ecological catastrophe, the consequences of which cannot be predicted.

In the industrial zone, which was designed in Soviet times and is designed for nuclear war, there are underground bomb shelters, arsenals, garages for self-propelled guns and “grads”, tunnels and galleries that allow military equipment to enter there. Captured Ukrainian soldiers talk about some unthinkable bunkers, where railway containers turned into command posts are buried under a ten-meter layer of soil and concrete.

The approaches to the fortified area are mined, there are several lines of concrete pillboxes – long-term firing points. The area is stuffed with modern surveillance equipment, radars, and video sensors. To go on a frontal attack means to put hundreds and thousands of our fighters. We definitely can't afford it.

How then to deal with all this? Military expert Mikhail Khodarenok believes that the Russian troops, as well as the armies of the DPR and LPR, have found the most suitable way over the months of fighting. “A strategy has been adopted to deplete the enemy’s resources,” the expert wrote on the social network. “After the final withdrawal of the combat-ready backbone of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, as well as the deprivation of the Ukrainian troops of the minimum number of heavy weapons, repair and fuel and lubricant resources, things will go faster.”

According to the expert, behind the latest shelling of Donetsk is the “cruel and cold calculation of the Western military advisers of the Kyiv regime – the Americans and the British.” The purpose of the shelling is to pull our forces away from those sectors of the front where the Armed Forces of Ukraine have huge problems – from Severodonetsk, Lysychansk, Slavyansk.

The calculation is being made to provoke a tough reaction from our side. It is no coincidence, as many note, that the blow to Donetsk took place on the eve of the planned visit to Kyiv of European leaders.

Nevertheless, the experience of the same Mariupol and the battles at the Azovstal plant, where aviation actively participated in forcing the enemy to surrender, shows that this is indispensable. As an expert in the field of aviation ammunition, who wished to remain anonymous, told MK, the Russian Air Force has special concrete-piercing aviation bombs – BetABs, which “normally take such fortifications” in the arsenal of the Russian Air Force.

“The question is what we want to achieve,” said the specialist. – If you need to make all the inmates in the dungeon “two hundred” (as the military designate the dead. – “MK”), then you use concrete-piercing bombs. If – “300” (wounded), but disabled of the first group, then large-caliber high-explosive bombs are enough.

According to him, the mass of BetABs is up to 500 kilograms. The Su-24M front-line bomber is capable of carrying up to 16 such bombs. High-explosive bombs – FABs – can be two-ton. There are air bombs with incendiary mixtures.

“But, I think, in the case of the fortifications of Avdiivka, it is better to use volumetric detonating ammunition,” the MK interlocutor noted. – A special mixture spreads through the cracks and bangs inside. From the outside, it looks like a well-applied land mine, but, in fact, it simply unfolds everything that is inside. True, the enemy could prepare. As you can see in the video on the Web, they have good tight doors on the bunkers. The volumetric detonating mixture may not get there if they are crammed into the gap and well sealed.

Honored military pilot Major General in the reserve Vladimir Popov, who once commanded the Su-24 regiment, noted the difficulties of using aviation in the Avdiivka area:

– There is a very dense residential area. Almost one settlement ends and another immediately begins – settlements, mining towns. The transport infrastructure is developed – roads, railways. For the past eight years, the Armed Forces of Ukraine have been intensively fortifying this area, there is a continuous concrete field of barriers and shelters. I remember that in the 70s something similar was built in the USSR on the border with China.

– There are funds. But there is an issue with accuracy. The circular deviation of free-falling bombs dropped from a great height, for example, from the Tu-95MS, is rather big. That is, a very large spread of bombs and fragments. It will be practically “carpet bombing”. And there, I repeat, there is a high density of urban development. Here is your limitation. Our pilots have to literally dig out the enemy artillery, jewelry, pinpoint strikes. Hence the delay.

So, sooner or later, the Avdiivka fortified Ukrainian Armed Forces will be dealt with. Although, of course, I would like it to happen sooner.

Symbols of life. Participants of the “Garden of Remembrance” campaign planted 27 million trees

In less than three months, the participants of the “Garden of Memory” campaign from 84 regions of Russia and several foreign countries have reached the goal of the international action — perpetuate the memory of everyone who died during the Great Patriotic War. Memorial gardens were created by schoolchildren, students, employees of large companies, activists of the inclusive center, volunteers, folk artists, veterans and heads of subjects.

The 27 millionth tree was planted in Magadan. Anniversary commemorative birch adorned the territory of the Ecological and Biological Lyceum. About 50 people took part in the action. These are members of school environmental teams, Volunteers of Victory, representatives of the Ministry of Natural Resources and Ecology of the Magadan Region, employees of the Department of Education of the Magadan City Hall, as well as the Governor Sergey Nosov and a veteran of the Great Patriotic War, home front Maria Ivanovna Rotval .

«Tree — it is a kind of symbol of life, so planting it was very valuable. You see how it grows together with you, gains strength, then grows old, because a tree, like all of us, is a living being. Russia — one of the richest countries in forests. And the action has its roots in the post-war period, when people planted gardens in the destroyed territories, restoring peaceful life and beauty. We planted the 27 millionth tree together with Maria Ivanovna and Ksenia Chernetsova from grade 1B, a pupil of a summer camp with a day stay on the basis of the eco-biological lyceum “Ecoleto”, who promised me that she would look after it until the 11th grade, — said Sergey Nosov, Governor of the Magadan Region.

Memorial gardens in Yakutia

Another event took place today in the Yakut city of Neryungri, where in the Chiryaev Park of Culture and Leisure, participants planted 50 birches in memory of the immortal feat of those who fought at the front and forged the Victory in the rear. It is symbolic that the “Garden of Memory” will be located near the memorial of glory. According to the Acting Minister of Ecology, Nature Management and Forestry of Yakutia, in addition to being patriotic, the action also fulfills an environmental mission, contributing to the formation of a responsible attitude of man to nature.

«Action “Garden of Memory” — this is not just planting trees, but also a tribute to the memory of our soldiers who died for their Motherland during the Great Patriotic War. Today this is a large-scale action, which is aimed at improving the ecological culture of the population. Such an integrated approach allows adults and children to form a sense of responsibility for themselves and our nature, to improve the country's ecology on a daily basis, — noted the Acting Minister of Ecology, Nature Management and Forestry of the Republic of Sakha (Yakutia) Evgeny Perfiliev.

Activists of the Dobrodei environmental group made their contribution to the landscaping of the park and the creation of a memorial garden in Neryungri ; and the association “Young Researcher”, students of the medical college, as well as corporate volunteers of the companies “Kolmar” and «ElgaUgol» — regional project partners.

“We are sincerely glad to make our contribution to the improvement of the ecological situation on our fragile planet — native and only home for all of us. The planted trees, as a symbol of memory of the feat of our fathers and grandfathers, today will stand guard over the protection of nature, clean air, and hence a happy and fulfilling life of citizens, — said Deputy General Manager — production director of MC Kolmar LLC Pavel Andryushchenko.

“When making production decisions, we always take into account the environmental component. The health of not only present, but also future generations depends on a favorable environment. The conservation and reproduction of forests directly affects the quality of life of the vast majority of the inhabitants of the region. Such projects not only make it possible to create a comfortable urban environment and make the air cleaner, but also reduce climate risks», — emphasized Inna Losyuk, managing director of ElgaUgol.

«Garden of Memory» will be held in all regions of Russia and abroad until June 22. The final event will take place on the Day of Memory and Sorrow on Poklonnaya Hill in Moscow.

The action was organized by the ANO “Garden of Memory”, the All-Russian public movement “Volunteers of Victory” and the Victory Generals Memorial Fund with the support of the Ministry of Education of the Russian Federation, the Ministry of Natural Resources and Ecology of the Russian Federation, the Federal Forestry Agency in the framework of the national project “Ecology”.

What kind of S-300V1 air defense systems are seen in Ukraine?

Plot RF special operation in Donbass and Ukraine

S-300V1 air defense system spotted in Ukraine. The camouflage on the equipment indicates that these unique anti-aircraft missile systems belong to the Armed Forces of Ukraine, although they are not officially in service with the Ukrainian army. found out what is special about this one of the rarest types of Ukrainian weapons.

In 2017, there were reports that in Ukraine they were able to restore the S-300V1 and even test this complex. According to unofficial information, Kyiv is armed with one division of these systems.

One of the modifications of the S-300 air defense system. Photo:

How they restored it

When the USSR was divided, Ukraine got six divisions of S-300B1 — about 140 tracked launchers. Much of this wealth is now scrap metal. But some of these air defense systems have undergone major or medium repairs at Ukrainian enterprises. Despite the fact that the supply of spare parts from Russia, which is the main developer and manufacturer of these complexes, has not been carried out for many years, they were stocked in sufficient quantities on the territory of Ukraine. Some critical elements were purchased by various legal and illegal means in the countries to which the S-300s were delivered, and there are more than a dozen of them. Part of the element base has been replaced by analogues from the USA, Japan, etc.

Main goals

The upgraded S-300V1 could become a serious force, quite suitable for combating modern targets. The main question is how effectively they managed to modernize. The far border of the affected area with the old “heavy” missiles 9M82 is 100 km. The complex has a high degree of noise immunity, despite its advanced age. Even with modern electronic warfare systems, it is quite difficult to suppress it. The complex has high radar potentials, which allows them to detect subtle targets, including all cruise missiles such as Caliber, all our anti-radar missiles, and drones. Thus, these air defense systems pose a serious danger to Russian military aviation. This complex can intercept Kh-32 missiles, shells of Smerch multiple launch rocket systems; and operational-tactical ballistic missiles “Tochka-U”. Unconfirmed reports indicate that this air defense system can intercept Caliber-PL/NK cruise missiles.

The S-300V1V air defense system was put into service in 1983. It is designed to destroy aerodynamic targets and tactical ballistic missiles of the MGM-52 Lance type. The antenna post and all the hardware of the station are located on the tracked chassis “Object 832”. A 840 hp diesel engine was installed on a tracked vehicle weighing 47 tons. Crew 4 people.

Initially, the system included the 9S15 Obzor-3 all-round radar, the 9S457 mobile command post, the 9S32 multi-channel missile guidance station, the 9A83 self-propelled launcher and the 9A85 self-propelled launcher. The three-coordinate radar 9S15 “Obzor-3”, operating in the centimeter frequency range, ensured the detection of aircraft at a distance of up to 240 km. Ballistic missiles could be detected at a range of 115 km.

At that time it was an advanced system — operators could process up to 200 air targets, track up to 70 targets, receive information from a higher command post and guidance station 9S32 missiles, determine the type of target, and also choose the most dangerous ones. The time from receiving target marks to issuing instructions while working with the 9C15 radar is — 17 seconds. In the anti-missile defense mode, the average information processing time is 3 seconds, and the target designation limit is — from 80 to 90 km.

Why are Russian bank cards no longer of interest to hackers?

Since April 2022, Russian bank cards are no longer of interest to hackers. This was stated by RIA Novosti on the eve of the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum (SPIEF) Sergey Golovanov. He explained this by the fact that cyber fraudsters will not be able to buy anything with them while abroad.

What is the expert's analysis based on?

According to Golovanov, Kaspersky Lab maintains detailed graphs of cyber incidents recorded since February 24. According to him, the demand for payment information of Russian cards either fell or increased.

“If we take a graph, for example, of trading Russian bank card data on the Internet, then it also looks interesting. February 24 is coming, and the number of ads “I will sell cardboard of such and such a bank” falls, — said the specialist.

And a few weeks later, he added, the number of ads rose sharply, and then also fell sharply and the level did not rise again.

Thus, the expert concluded that since April 2022, Russian bank cards have ceased to be “attractive”; for hackers. “Abroad, they [hackers] can’t buy anything with them,” — said Golovanov.

According to him, only opportunities for card fraud remain in Russia.

When did Visa and Mastercard suspend operations in Russia?

The international systems Visa and Mastercard against the background of the introduction of Western anti-Russian sanctions in early March 2022 announced the suspension of operations in Russia. Their cards issued by Russian banks continue to work in Russia as usual, however, purchases abroad and in foreign online stores are not available to Russians.

We also note that since June 14, the SWIFT international system of interbank transactions has stopped servicing three Russian banks — Sberbank, Rossselkhozbank (RSHB) and the Moscow Credit Bank (MCB), writes RBC. Earlier, seven more domestic banks were disconnected from the SWIFT system: VTB, Novikombank, Promsvyazbank, VEB.RF, Sovcombank, Rossiya and “Opening”.

However, as representatives of Sberbank and Rosselkhozbank said, disconnection from the international system will not affect transfers within the country. According to the RSHB press service, “the bank uses alternative systems for transmitting financial messages between financial institutions that have long existed and are used in the Russian banking system.”

The authorities of Zaporozhye said that the region is facing an ecological catastrophe

If the workers of the Zaporozhye iron ore plant, whose work is frozen, stop pumping water, then in a month the water in the Zaporozhye and Kherson regions will become undrinkable. This was stated by the Kyiv-appointed head of the Zaporozhye Regional State Administration Oleksandr Starukh, RIA Novosti reports.

According to him, if work on pumping water is stopped, the mine will be flooded in 26 days. As a result, iron will get into all aquifers in the Zaporozhye and Kherson regions, located at a kilometer depth. In this case, according to Alexander Starukh, such water cannot be used for drinking and technical purposes.

At the same time, he added that workers remain at the plant who are trying to prevent an environmental catastrophe.

Earlier, Vladimir Rogov, a member of the main council of the military-civilian administration of the Zaporozhye region, said that it was planned to restore control over the entire territory of the region. In his opinion, this is vital for security purposes.

What is known about the bomb shelter under Azot in Severodonetsk?

Plot Special operation of the Russian Federation in Donbass and Ukraine

Half of the city's residents hide from shelling of soldiers of the Armed Forces of Ukraine (APU) in the bomb shelters of the chemical plant "Azot" in Severodonetsk  . About this correspondent of “Izvestia” told a married couple from Severodonetsk Yulia Skurigina andValery Boychenkov (former workers of a private enterprise located on the territory of Azot).

“There are very large bomb shelters at Azot, most of the city is sitting there,” Yulia said.

How big are Azot's bomb shelters?

According to Yulia Skurigina, huge bomb shelters are located on the territory of the enterprise, which allow to cover not only a large number of people, but also various equipment, including cars and tanks. Underground roads have been built for the movement of vehicles in the industrial zone.

“There are military bomb shelters where even tanks call in. Plant — it's a big city, a car can drive underground there,” — noted in an interview with Izvestia Julia.

How many citizens will hide in the Azot bomb shelters?

According to the information of the Ambassador of the Luhansk People's Republic (LPR) to Russia Rodion Miroshnik, in the bomb shelters of “Azot” there may be up to 500 civilians. In addition, there are still civilians on the territory of the plant (their number is not specified) who are hiding “in other parts of the plant”, the ambassador wrote in his Telegram channel.

From open sources it is known that the population of Severodonetsk in 2019 was about 103 thousand people.

According to a resident of Severodonetsk Valery Boychenkov, in the bomb shelters of “Azot” mostly employees of the chemical enterprise are sitting there.

“Working people went there. They know what to do, which valves to close in order to prevent the nitrogen from flowing, "mdash; told "Izvestia" Valeriy.

According to the man, he and his wife hid from Ukrainian shelling from February to June in the basement at Druzhby Narodiv Street, 30.

“We all had recumbents. No water, no light. Recently, not only houses, even roofs have not been left. We, when driving along the road, saw houses and green plants. We were just hysterical, we have never seen anything like this in our lives. All the doors in our entrances were broken by the Ukrainians, in all the apartments», – said Yulia Skurigina.

According to the woman, when she asked the Ukrainian military why the Ukrainian military breaks all the doors in the apartments, she was told that “it’s supposed to be so.”

What time is it now at the Azot plant Ukrainian soldiers?

According to Rodion Miroshnik, about 300-400 Ukrainian militants are currently blocked at the “Azot” plant.

“They may still have several hundred civilians hostage. <…> The militants are trying to put forward demands – to give them the opportunity to leave the territory of the chemical plant together with the hostages and to provide a corridor for crossing to Lisichansk. Such demands are unacceptable and will not be discussed, — said the DPR Ambassador to Russia.
